If you have been looking for a game that you can pick up a play for a few minutes when you have dead time, but you don’t want to spend a lot of money check out WW2 Beachhead! This game starts out slow, 
but quickly gets hectic. If you are familiar with some of the “sniper” games already in the App Store, this game has a similar concept, but takes it in a slightly different direction.
Everything in this game from the menus, music, graphics, and sound effects are well done and add to the intuitive gameplay. The first thing you’ll see when you open this app is the main menu. There are four main options from here as well as a “More Games”
button in the upper left corner which shows you a few other games by Sunstorm Interactive.
One of the nice features of this app is that the control scheme is fairly customizable. You can touch and drag the screen anywhere to aim your gun, or you can use a “control pad” which can be configured to be on either side of the screen at the bottom. There are sensitivity controls for both of these 
options that you can set individually as well.
Once you get everything setup just touch the “New Game” button to get started, or you can also “Resume” a game if you have been playing previously. Once you get started the main game interface is very simple. Again, you can move around by either dragging the screen or using the control pad. There is a red button in
the bottom corner than your control pad is not in that you use to fire your gun.
The goal of this game is to protect several different locations from the enemy as they storm the beach! As you get further into the game, enemies will come in from multiple locations, there will be different kinds of units and vehicles that are progressively more difficult to kill and you will get a variety of different weapons to take them out with.
In order to use the different weapons that you will get as you play this game, all you have to do is touch 
your ammo at the bottom of the screen in the middle. This will scroll through them, one weapon at a time, until you find what you are looking for. Just use your big rounds wisely. You never know when you might get bombarded by a bunch of tanks! The controls seemed to operate fairly smoothly, although it is a little difficult to hit some of the smaller targets such as individual units. I don’t think this is necessarily a design flaw though. If they were too easy to hit this game would be way too easy.
If for some reason you need to stop gameplay you can do so by touching the pause button located in the upper right corner of the screen. One thing that I felt was a little odd is that there is not really any type of in game menu. This means that you will have to exit to the main menu to change your control scheme if you want to. This is not really that big of a deal though because it is unlikely that you will spend a great deal of time changing it from its default settings.
As you progress through the game the story slowly unfolds. While it is probably not the most epic storyline you have ever heard, it is definitely good enough to add depth to the game. Each time you finish a level not only do you unlock the next level to play, but you can also go back and play any of the levels that you have previously completed whenever you might want to.
This game is a lot of fun and is definitely worth $0.99. In fact, I would venture to say that this is probably one of the better values in the App Store right now at that price! Having said that, I doubt that this app is going to stay at this price for very long, especially since the developer lists in their description that this is just a special introductory price! So if you haven’t grabbed this app up yet, head to the App Store today and take advantage of this great deal!

Sunstorm Interactive is quickly becoming one of my favorite developer of game applications for the iPhone OS.
I love to play WW2 Beachhead Althogh the game seem easy to play it’s not. You must not only carefully place your shots but also budget your ammunition. I ran out several times and was quickly captured by the enemy. Good use of the power ups ensure this doesn’t happen and the better, more powerful guns make advancing easier.
