For all of you movie buffs, I found an app for you – TrailerSpy. One of the really great things about this was app is that you are not limited to searching only movies, this app has books, television and games and in addition to the new and upcoming, it has older trailers as well. The sort option was always very helpful, especially the “now playing” for those lazy Sundays when nothing sounds better than watching a movie. The other sorting options are “coming soon and “on dvd”. Any way you want to search, TrailerSpy has it.
I had a lot of fun searching through the massive database that TrailerSpy offers. I was able to get some upcoming dates on movies (the new Angelina Jolie movie Salt comes out in Summer 2010 and the trailers is really good, by the way) and just find out what is out there. Although I don’t go to the movie theatre that often, I do have Netflix and this app was a great reminder of things to add to my queue.
In addition to the sort option and the overall search, TrailerSpy allows you to search the movie (or TV, or book, or game) trailers by mainstream, extras, indie and must watch. Another great feature is that before you even choose to watch the trailer, you get the title, time length, short description, the date it was added and how many times it was viewed. All of these features make the app easy to use and worth downloading. In some ways, it’s an easier search than the internet as everything is bundled together and the search options detail things you might not know.
Each of the movies is played in the YouTube format and plays in while the screen is horizontal so that you have more picture to view. Other than the loading being a little slow, I didn’t find anything about this app that I didn’t like and since the app contains thousands of trailers, I can patiently wait for them to load. Whether you follow movies religiously or you occasionally decide that an matinee would be the perfect afternoon treat, this app is a great way to get you in the right theatre!

TrailerSpy Mobile is the first REALLY GREAT app for watching Movie Trailers, Game Trailers, TV Trailers and Book Trailers directly on your iPhone or iPod Touch.
