Touch me if you can ($0.99)
Version – 1.0
Review – “A fast paced game that will test your memory!”
If you love games that work your mind as much as your fingers, you might want to take a look at “Touch me if you can” by Bliss Software! This game manages to take the classic “Memory” game format and add an arcade feel to it! The basic idea behind this game is that you have to memorize the positions of matching cards quickly and identify the
matching cards by touching the ones that match together.
One of the first things that really became apparent to me as I downloaded and opened this game is the “artsy” feel of the graphics. While they are very simple, they definitely
add to the feel of the game!
When you open this app for the first time you’ll be asked if you want to sign up for an account with the OpenFeint gaming network. If you already have an account and have played other games on your device, it will likely detect that account already and allow you to log in to it easily. If you’ve not signed up before, it will only take a minute and having OpenFeint will add a lot more replay value to this game by inserting a high score list and chat feature!
Once you get everything set up, the main menu has just four different buttons: Play game, Options, Ranking, and Credits. The options menu will allow you to toggle on/off the sound effects and music,
and the “Ranking” button will take you to OpenFeint to compare your scores with your friends and the world!
Starting a game up is simple, you just touch the Play Game button! Once you do you’ll be asked if you want to play the game on Normal or Hard. If you have not played this game before I would definitely recommend that you try the “Normal” mode first as there is a pretty significant
difference in difficulty between the two!
The gameplay in this game is extremely simple, although it was a little confusing trying to figure out what was going on the first time I played it. Because of this initial confusion, I really think the developer should consider either offering a “tutorial” area in the menu. This is obviously not a huge deal, but would definitely make the game feel more polished.
If nothing else, this app could definitely serve as a fun way to improve your visual memory! Whether it’s just for fun, or it really is to improve your memory, the Touch me if you can app is a real bargain in the App Store for just $0.99! So don’t waste one more moment. If this app looks like something you might enjoy, then head to the App Store and download it onto your iDevice today!
