Stick Golf is a platform style point-and-shoot game, that’s been fairly popular on the iPhone, but is now released in all large iPad Glory. Similar to all of the Archer-Style games out there, you simply need to point and fire your club to try and get the shot!
There are basically two things you need to master to get great at this game. One, is aiming. You have a little arrow which you control the angle at which you’re going to hit your ball. Second, is the power meter – hitting the ball just at the right time to get exactly as much (or as little) power as you need to get to your goal.
But they’re not going to make it easy for you. In fact, many people find this game really very hard. I, however thought that the first course was just tricky enough, and kept me on my toes. There are islands in the sky to hit over, there are pools of water you can’t land in, and if you play on HARD Mode, there’s even wind to contend with.
Fans of the old aim-style games (like Tank Wars or Scorched Earth) are going to love this too. Also, all in, there are over 70 holes in a wide range of courses, each unlockable by clearing the previous course.
It doesn’t end there though, of course they would go and beef this up even more by haviving OpenFient – because nothing is better than scoring 5 under Par than bragging to your friends. Even if it is by a stick-man.
