Solitare – iPhone App Review

Solitaire (Free)

Version 1.5

REVIEW – ” The classic game comes to the iPhone with flawless gameplay and fun.”

One of the few games that I don’t have on my iPhone is solitaire and the main reason for that is because I have always had the gambit of other games to occupy my time. But it is also the downside that my father always uses to say why his Android is so much better.

Well now I finally have a decent version of solitaire on my iPhone and this is for a number of reasons, the first being that I was not going to pay for solitaire, and the second being that it had to be a pretty decent version in order to actually maintain a place on my always being cleared out iPhone.

This iPhone version of Solitaire does everything that you would expect in a simple and intuitive way. When you start off you get to choose some options such as whether you want a one card or a three card draw and whether or not you want the game scored.

But then you can also choose from three different deck styles and a wide range of backgrounds so that you can even play solitaire on a sandy beach or with an ocean front view.

The movement of the cards is just like you would expect with simple tap and drag in order to place the cards where you want them to go. A nice feature is that once you have cleared all the cards (or gotten to the point where it is inevitable) the game automatically puts all the cards in their place to spare you the endless tapping and dragging.

The sounds were also very amusing every time I grabbed a card it sounded like I was opening a can of soda, which needless to say is a very odd sound but one that for some reason had a certain charm to it.

One thing I will say though is that I was rather disappointed that it does not keep a scores list, it would be nice to know how my scores are doing, especially if younger children are playing.

But the graphics were nice enough and the game play was very smooth and that makes this just about the perfect little solitaire game for the iPhone. Not to mention it also gives you links to a number of other classic games that your iPhone might currently be lacking.
