Review – “Navigate your music library with ease!”
While Apple has added a considerable amount of search functionality 
to the iPhone through OS updates, it could definitely be better when it comes to the iPod app. If you’ve got a particularly large music library you’ve 
probably wished for a way to find songs using multiple filters (author, title, genre, etc.). Well wish no more, because SmartPlaylist does just that and more!
The best thing about this app is that it offers lots of flexibility without being confusing. When you open up SmartPlaylist all you have to do to create a new playlist is enter some information into the filters and touch the generate list button in the lower right corner of the screen. It will take a few seconds for the app to generate a list of songs and then you’ll be taken directly into the newly generated playlist. It’s that simple!
You can also set up multiple playlist filters in this app as well. At the top of the screen are 6 letters. Each one represents a totally separate set of playlist filters. Touching any of them will take you to that particularly set of playlist settings.
Not only can you create 6 different playlist filters but you can save any group of settings to load at a later time by touching the button in the lower left corner of the screen
and selecting “Save current rules.” I found that both the load rules and save rules commands work very quickly and do exactly as you would expect.
There are a few other settings that you can set up from the settings menu in the lower left corner of the screen. If you touch the “Settings” button 
you’ll be given the option to set the color scheme, decide whether your playlists should repeat when they are finished, and even show a badge number on the app that represents how many songs there are in your current playlist.
The search engine in this app is very powerful. One feature that is extremely nice in this app is that you have the ability to use operators, such as AND, OR and NOT. This allows you to be very precise in your searches by including and excluding various search terms. You can also enter in just part of a word and it will search for all related words that have that section of text in their words (ex. “alter” search term will return all “alternative” songs).
If you have a pretty large music library this is one app that you really don’t want to miss, especially since it’s only $1.99. It makes creating a playlist so simple you’ll wonder how you ever found the right music before SmartPlaylist. So what are you waiting for? Check it out in the App Store today!
