REVIEW – “Let your mood choose the music!”
If you’re like me you probably have a lot more music than you actually get around to listening to regularly. You also probably get tired of programming lists of songs to play. What if I were to tell you that there was a way to listen to your music library based on the “mood” they set without manually going through 
your library? Well now you can! Syntonetic Media Solutions has just released Moodagent into the App Store, and to celebrate its release it is free for a limited time!
When you open up Moodagent for the first time you will first need to “sync” your library with their database. What this does is download “profiles” for all of your songs so that Moodagent can help create custom lists based on the preferences you set. This process takes a little while, especially if you don’t have good internet so I would recommend that you do it while you have access to a WiFi connection if possible.
Once Moodagent was finished syncing it notified me that it was able to download profiles 
for about 60-70% of my library. At this point you can either start using the app with the profiles that it did find, or you can head to Moodagent.com and download their free utility which will actually create profiles for the songs that did not already have Moodagent profiles!
Once you have your library synced it is very simple to get started. At the top of the screen you see five different bars. Each bar starts out in the middle and represents a different “mood.” The five moods are “Sensual,” “Tender,”
“Joy,” “Aggressive,” “Tempo.” To create a new list of songs all you have to do is change these five bars to where you want them. A list of 25 songs will then be generated based on where you set them.
The new lists automatically start playing as soon as they are generated. Another great feature of this app is that if you want to create a new list based on the mood, genre, and tempo of a specific track all you have to do is touch the Moodagent logo to the right of that track. The mood bars will 
automatically be adjusted to those of the song selected and a new list will be generated.
If you want you can also browse your library to find a specific seed track as well. There is a little magnifying glass in the bottom right corner of the screen that will take you to a list of all of your songs. You can quickly browse by Playlists, Artists, Songs, etc. and find the song that matches what you want to listen to. While Apple’s “Genius” playlists are good, I would venture to say that Moodagent does a better job of selecting songs that have a similar feel because that is exactly what it is designed to do!
The features of this app are worth their weight in gold. If you have been looking for a simple way to manage your music Moodagent is one of the best solutions I have found. There are no guarantees how long an app like this will stay free either. So what are you waiting for? Check out Moodagent today and start letting your music fit the mood!
