Review – “A fun way to play with your photo library!”
If you like playing with photos I really think that you’ll find this app interesting. ModdedMovie is an app that allows you to take photos from your library, or directly from your camera and mix them into a video. The 
basic idea is that you can make it look like you found pictures of your friends on various objects from vans to various sizes of billboards! The concept is simple, creative, and will get a lot of laughs from your friends and family members!
The first thing you’ll see when you open up this app is the “My Movies” screen. Obviously you won’t see any movies here until you’ve created some, but this is also the screen where you start creating a movie! At the bottom of the screen are a couple of other screens you can select from. There is an “Instructions” screen that will teach you how to use this app, a “Preferences” screen where you can set the quality that your videos render to and an “About” screen that just tells you how to contact the developers and some 
basic information about them.
I personally did not read the “Instructions” before I started playing with this app and did not need them. Obviously everyone will have a slightly different level of technical ability, but I felt that the controls were fairly intuitive. With that said, the instructions are detailed and do a good job of explaining how all of the different features of this app work.
After you’ve read the instructions (or if you just chose to skip them) all you have to do is touch the “+” button in the upper right corner of the “My Moves” screen to get started! The first thing you’ll need to do when you get started is type a name for your new movie. Once you finish that you’ll be taken to a list of movie scenes that you can select from.
If you want to see a movie before you add a photo to it all you have to do is touch the play button to the right of the description. The movie will play with the area taken out for the photo displayed in purple. Once you decide on one you just touch it . You’re then taken to a “Picture Theme” select screen. There 
are a variety of themes from an “I Love You” to “Happy Birthday” and even an “Empty” one if you just want to use a photo directly without any format.
Once you select these themes you’ll be taken to a screen with the picture theme you have chosen. It will automatically zoom in on the are where your photo will be placed. Inside the area for the photo you’ll notice the silhouette of a head. This is designed to help you line up your photo in the most ideal manner which will make the end result look much smoother.
To add a picture you just touch the little camera icon in the lower left corner. You’ll be given the option to select a photo from your library, or to take a new photo to use. Once you select a photo all you have to do to place it where you want is drag and pinch. The interface for this is extremely nice. Not only can you 
pinch to zoom and drag a photo around, you can do both of these things and even rotate the photos at the same time! This smooth interface made it extremely easy for me to line photos up just like I wanted to.
Something that I did notice is that there are a few of the picture themes that work much better if your photos are taken on a very light, or even on a white background. As long as your background is not too dark most of the themes do a good job of kind of fading out the edges of your photos to help them blend in where they belong!
Another great feature is that you can modify the brightness, contrast and saturation of your photos as you add them. This allows you to make minor modifications
without opening your photos in another app. While it would have been nice to maybe have some more control and/or ways to help make photos blend into the background where they belong, overall this app manages to provide enough control, while at the same time remaining extremely simple to use!
Overall I think this app is definitely worth a look. Especially for people that love to play a good practical joke or just love creative photos in general this app will keep you entertained for hours!
