REVIEW – “WordPress App”
The intended purpose of this app is to create blog posts on the go while having features such as the ability to add photos and descriptions to posts. My first impression of this app was that there should be an option to not only login to existing blogs, but also create a new blog if need be. I did like that you could add non WordPress blogs, as well as multiple WordPress blog accounts. At the bottom of the screen, there was a Write button, Photos, Preview, and a Settings tab. I could quickly view comments that users had posted to my blog, as well as post photos from my existing iPhone photo album. I found that it was very easy to start writing a blog post and was delighted that the landscape mode could be used while writing. This made it even quicker to blog on the go.
While posting a new entry to a blog, I could add tags and categories as well as set the status of the blog to Private, Published, Pending Review or save the post as a draft. My favorite feature of this app was the ability to add photos straight from your phone onto a blog post, which eliminates the hard work of uploading photos via your computer. Users can also upload multiple photos as well as resize the photos to fit your tastes. I did find a glitch during writing a description for a photo, there was no enter or back button so I was stuck on the screen.
This app definitely meets my expectations in functionality since every feature is user-friendly and is also visually appealing. This app did not crash while using it. My overall impression of this app was that its great for bloggers who need to quickly update blogs while on the go. I was impressed with the straightforward design and limited amount of effort it took to post an entry to my blog.
