REVIEW – “This fun little game is certain to make you smile while it frustrates you!”
This is a rather unique game that I just happened to stumble upon. It has a very simple gameplay and it is almost like a time management game but with a fun and quirky twist. The graphics of this game are very simple and they will not impress anyone but the game is fun and the sounds are cute. Strangely enough the graphics are the best when you lose!
The premise behind this game is simple. You need to get people waiting on the sidewalk to a empty taxi. But the difficulty arises in the fact that the cabs are moving and the people are not smart enough to move out of the way of traffic on their own. So even though you can easily click a person on the sidewalk and then click an open taxi (blue) you have to keep an eye on them to make sure that they do not walk in the way of traffic.
If you want them to move out of the way simply drag them out of the way but keep a close eye because they tend to take the straightest path so even with they do not have to they will walk in the street.What happens if you don’t get them out of the way in time? They die, turn into an angel and it is game over for you.
But getting them to the cab is not the only problem because you not only have to get them there but get them there quickly. If you want too long they will not only get angry they will explode! If they do spontaneously combust then it is also game over for you.
You start the game off leading businessmen to cabs but if you have the skill and the staying power then eventually you get a new breed of customer as well. These customers are overweight tourists and they tend to walk much slower than the businessmen. This makes it much harder to get them to a cab safely and before the cab disappears off the screen.
This game may sound simple and even a little boring but I swear it is incredibly addictive! I kept trying to take pictures of gameplay but I would quickly forget and not remember about the need to take pictures until I had died. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed playing this game. It also has the benefit of being very quick and therefore perfect for short moments of boredom.
The one detraction I think from this game is the loading time. Once again I am working with an older model iPhone so you may not have the extensive amount of loading time that I did, but I found it slightly annoying. Especially because the loading time would sometimes be longer than my gametime if I wasn’t paying attention.
