There is something really great about all of the free (and some non-free) music apps that are becoming available but I can’t help but feel sorry for the radio. As The Buggles, Video Killed the Radio Star quietly plays in the back of my mind, I can’t help but think only this time, it isn’t the videos, it’s the digital age. We have come to rely so heavily on all of our many gadgets and electronics, the poor radio is becoming a sad and archaic thing of the past. And in addition to the many radio and music apps that are out there, Radio Disney is another one that jumped on the bandwagon, and with good reason.
Whether you secretly harbor a genuine fascination with the upbeat and catchy Miley Cyrus songs or you have kids who love to sing along to the High School Music soundtrack – Radio Disney has all of this and more. I discovered the Radio Disney
channel app because it was listed in the top 10 free music apps and although personally I don’t have any children or really care to listen to the teeny-bopper music that it offers, there was still a bit of intrigue.
After I downloaded the app, I discovered that other than the specific type of music that it offers, it also has the option to list the last 10 songs that were played – just in case you missed the artist or song title and also has the ability to connect to the website to make requests or send shout outs to all of your friends. Radio Disney is a perfect app for your children. As a Disney Company product, you don’t have to worry about anything inappropriate and you can almost guarantee that your kids will know more about it than you.
The Radio Disney app is a free app for the iPhone or iTouch that is basically a live stream of the radio channel – no more AM radio for this car! And with all of the extra plug-ins that third party companies have made, Radio Disney can do more than just play through the speakers on your phone or earbuds, it can also stream through your car speakers. But any way that you want to listen, the Radio Disney app is there to play that annoyingly addictive teeny-bopper music that, let’s be honest, you know you want to sing along to.
