REVIEW – “I’m pure because my iPhone tells me so!”
Island Wall Entertainment has recently released an app called “PurityRing.” There are literally thousands of kids worldwide that have taken an oath to save sex for marriage. This app is designed to be a reminder of that commitment to celibacy and is available in the App Store for $0.99!
When you open this app, you are taken to a screen with a ring background and four buttons. The first button is the “Your Ring” button. Pressing the button will ask you if you have “taken the pledge.” If you say yes, then it will show a rotating 3D purity ring. If you say no, then you will be asked to take a pledge that is customized for a male or a female.
The You’re pledge button does the same thing which is slightly confusing, but doesn’t really hurt anything. The other two buttons give you information about what a purity ring represents and the option to tell your friends about the app via email.
I’m not sure how good of a reminder of your commitment an app that you never use would be. A physical ring is a much better reminder, so if you are truly interested in something to remind you of a commitment, I would recommend you save your dollar and save it towards buying a real purity ring.
