REVIEW—”Connect the dots in a different way!”
Connect the dot in a whole new way with Puntos (points). Puntos is a Mexican pastime that has been popular for decades. It really is fairly simple to play and keeps the good times rolling. However, I must note that a basic understanding of Spanish, while beneficial, is not necessarily crucial to play and enjoy the game. Still, it will require some deductive reasoning and a little trial and error to navigate the game and its interface.
The game itself is simple. You and an opponent take turns creating lines between dots, both vertically and horizontally. Your goal is to make a square, and the one who completes the square (lies down the fourth line) earns the point for that square and receives another turn.
Puntos really is a game of strategy. The larger the board becomes, with more rows and columns, the more complex the game becomes and the more strategic you have to be about where you connect the dots. Hint: It is crucial to avoid adding the third side to any square so that you do not leave your opponent the opportunity to complete the square. This is only a two-player game, but if you don’t have a companion, you can always just play against the computer. However, let me warn you, the computer will give you a run for your money…or your dots as the case may be.
Puntos is a really fun game to play. This really is a game that never gets old and even if your Spanish is a little rusty, fun speaks internationally. Connect the dots and have a good time. You absolutely won’t regret it.
