REVIEW – “A pointless and yet addicting game!”
I never thought I would find throwing virtual trash into a virtual trash can a fun way to pass the time, but that didn’t stop me from loving Paper Toss by Backflip Studios. This game is basically exactly what its title and icon describe, tossing paper into a trashcan.
When you open the app, you are greeted by office sound effects and a menu containing three different difficulty levels, a high score list, and the option to turn the sound effects on or off. The game is very simple. The trash can is placed a certain distance away, based on the difficulty you select. You are then given a piece of trash and you “swipe” your finger in the direction that you wish to throw the paper.
This may sound pretty easy, but there is an added twist in that there is a fan blowing from either the left or the right, and an arrow in the middle of the screen tells you how hard it is blowing and in which direction. Basically the only “score” that is kept is how many times you can make it into the trashcan in a row.
For those competitive types there is a global high score list that you can submit your scores to and see how you rank in the world of aerial trash disposers. For such a simple concept I was very impressed with the replay value that this game has. I would definitely recommend this free app to anyone that likes “time-killer” games.
