I will preface this review by saying that if you
are expecting to get all of your news from one place that this app is not what you are looking for. If; however, you would like to get a broader picture about some of the biggest stories out there, this app may be exactly what you’re looking for! Newsy brings you all of the latest videos from Newsy.com in an easy to browse format directly on your iPhone or iPod Touch.
When you open this app for the first time you are greeted with a list of thumbnail photos that you can scroll through… 
You either scroll through them like you would in “Coverflow” by dragging them side to side, or you can also scroll through them using your device’s Accelerometer. You do this by touching the lock that is in the bar at the top of the screen, and then tilting your device side to side.
Once you find a story that looks interesting, you can either touch the thumbnail to go to a brief description of the story or touch the “Play” button in the bottom right corner to go directly to the video. I was extremely impressed with the video quality, and it gets even better if you have 
a WiFi connection available! The picture is crystal clear, and I did not have any problems with lag in the streaming.
For the most part I was impressed with the attempt at honest journalism in these videos. I occasionally disagreed with stances that I saw, but Newsy.com makes a concerted effort to leave the judgment up to the viewer and to just report the facts and opposing viewpoints. I would have liked to have seen more stories covered, but for a free app I am 
extremely pleased with what it has to offer.
Another great feature of this app is the search bar. Are you looking for information on a story that came out several weeks ago that isn’t in the most recent list? The search bar in the upper right corner allows you to search all of the stories on Newsy.com. Searches are very quick, and present a list of matching stories to select from.
If you are someone that keeps up on the news fairly regularly but would like to see what people from a different perspective have to say this app is excellent. I think that you will be pleasantly surprised at the wide range of views on all of the topics covered, and the best thing is that the journalists do their best not to take sides. The videos are high quality and feel very polished. As a news enthusiast I will be checking in with this app on a regular basis and I would highly recommend that you go download it today!
