REVIEW – “Get Hooked On Memory Match”

070809 0620 iPhoneAppRe2 MemoryMatch iPhone App Review While designed for children, MemoryMatch is super fun in its simplicity! MemoryMatch is a basic game of memory. A board of 30 cards is shown and the user can flip over two cards at a time, looking for a match. Once all 15 pairs are made, the game ends – simple as that!

MemoryMatch even tracks high scores and allows users to compare their scores with all the players of MemoryMatch worldwide. This option requires an email address and the download of Jirbo Avatar, another app provided by the developer. It seems to be a little too much but if you get an awesome score I could see wanting to share it.

The biggest disappointment in MemoryMatch is that the board is always 30 cards large – five by six. For some children, especially younger children, this could be a bit daunting. Being able to customize the board size would really improve this app.

Another improvement would be in regards to the pictures on the cards. The characters are always the same, or at least very similar, set of animals. Some are clearly different, but occasionally a few are just similar looking enough to cause some confusion. Get a board with the tan dog that looks a little like what might be a lion and it’s much more difficult then the board with clearly different animals. Having more than one set of images to choose from would just mix up the game a little and make the user feel like they had more choice.

The game is surprisingly addictive. It would work wonders to entertain a child while waiting in a line or at the doctor’s office. It would also be a great way to entertain a child or adult on a long ride.

MemoryMatch is a simple and fun app that would be a welcome addition to any iPhone or iPod.
