MedCalc is the ultimate tool for doctors and nurses. This app has a calculator in it for pretty much any medical math that you might ever see yourself doing. It even has an easy to use EKG or heart rate calculator.

The interface of the app is fairly easy. When you open the app you are greeted with a list of categories to look under, as well as an option to view all of the formulas, “starred” formulas, or “recent” formulas. This makes it very easy to get to one that you use often very quickly, or to reuse one that you just had open.

There are a variety of categories that will help you narrow down to just the formulas you are looking for. The categories range from Anesthesiology, to Cardiology and Pediatrics. The calculators are all very easy to use, and all include a help button in the upper right corner if you are not exactly sure how to use them.

There are lots of formulas that only medical professionals would understand, but there are also a few that pretty much anyone would find interesting. Some of those are the “Age” Tool ,which will tell you exactly how old you are to the day; and the Heart Rate Meter(EKG) which will tell you your heart rate in Beats Per Minute.

This tool is so easy to use, and so thorough, that I would highly recommend it to any medical professional. The best part of all is that this app is free, which makes it a must have for doctors and nurses! The only thing I would like to see changed is that it is not possible to use copy and paste in it as of now. But since it is free, even if you are not a doctor, there are probably enough interesting formulas to make this worth a download for just about anyone interested in medical information looking to kill some time.
