REVIEW – “It’s just like Connect 4!”
Today really is a day for classic and timeless games. Here’s another one, Link 4, which is just like another one of my good ol’ chilhood favorites. It’s a simple game, really. All you have to do get four in a row, right? Right. And it’s easy, because you’re playing a computer, right? Wrong.
In Link 4 your opponents are domestic and abroad. You can play as just a complicated 6+ figured number or you can create an actual username and account. Select your gender for a simple avatar and your age so that you can play opponents in your age range. It’s that simple and you’re ready to go.
From there, the game is simple. Get four pieces in a row. 
You might have red or black pieces and your opponent has the other color. While trying to keep them from getting 4 in a row, you must get your own four in a row. It’s not as easy as it seems. There are a limited number of spots and if you and your opponent are clever enough, you could come to a standstill and have to call it a tie.
I really loved Connect 4 as a child and Link 4 brought back many fond m
emories. It’s nice to be able to connect with other players, but the instant messaging that takes back and forth outside of games is unnecessary. Link 4 does have a policy to ban those who use derogatory or inflammatory statements, but it’s not too effective. If Link 4 nixed that feature, it’d be nothing shy of amazing.
Still in spite of the questionable instant messaging feature, Link 4 is still a nice prototype of a childhood throw back. Give it a go. It’s just four in a row, ya know. You’ll figure it out, I’m sure.
