iMobsters Live is one of several MMORPG’s that Storm8 LLC has released for the iPhone and iPod touch. These games are very similar in style to games such as Mob Wars on Facebook and MySpace, except that they are played exclusively on mobile devices.
When you open this game for the first time you will be taken through a tutorial. It is highly recommended that you complete the tutorial phase, because if you do you will receive $5,000 to get started with!
Game play here is pretty basic. The idea is that you recruit members into your mob, acquire weapons, and buy property to help offset your costs and make money. Along the way you can also battle other people playing the game, complete “Missions” to get money and EXP, upgrade your character as you level up in battle and keep your money safe from harm in the “Bank”.
One of the fun things about this game, and also for some one of it’s downfalls, is the fact that the game is always going on. You can get attacked even when you’re not online, and you also accrue money when the app is not opened as long as you have more money being brought in from property than is being spent on keeping your weapons in good shape.
Fortunately, this game manages to be fun, without being so addicting that it consumes your whole life like some MMORPG’s can. I would highly recommend this game, especially if you are a casual gamer that really enjoys social networking games. Also keep an eye out for free versions of iMobsters that will add “Favor Points” to your account for free. Favor points will allow you to do things like get free money and gain extra mob recruits!
