Funny Pics is an app designed to deliver exactly what you would expect, laughs! The pictures in this are public domain pictures submitted by users all over the world, and they have a pretty good size collection of them.

When you open up this app for the first time you are greeted by a splash screen, and then taken straight to a preview page for the first four “Popular” Pictures. The interface from here is pretty simple. You either touch a picture and it becomes a full screen preview, touch one of the arrows at the bottom to go to a new page of pictures, or touch a new sort category such as “Recent” or “Random”.
 

    Unfortunately the selection of pictures in this app is really the only strength of this app. You’ll see a lot of old favorite’s that you’ve probably seen before, as well as lots of new pictures you haven’t. The problem is that while there are a lot of pictures to see, the interface for viewing them is not only terrible, but also very slow.
 

    First of all, you can only see four picture previews at a time. This makes getting through a lot of pictures to find that one you were looking for tedious at best. Secondly, instead of the pictures being thumbnail previews, you just get to see the upper left corner of pictures. If the picture is of a very high resolution that means the preview may show you little or nothing at all. Not using thumbnails also makes this app very, very slow if you are not on a wi-fi connection.
 

    Third, there is no kind of category view or search feature. What this means is that if you were looking to see if they have a specific picture, or a specific kind of picture the only way to find what you’re looking for is to hope that either it’s popular, that it’s been recently uploaded, or that you somehow get lucky and see them in the “random” section.
 

    All of that said, if you are just looking for a couple laughs, this app could definitely be worth a download. If; however, you’re wanting to use this to spend a great deal of time looking for funny pictures I would not recommend it, and I definitely would not pay for it so get it while it’s still free!
