REVIEW – “Draw a mustache on digital photos!”
This is one of those apps that is just a lot of fun. I remember going through school directories in college and drawing on pictures, and seeing others do the same. How would you like to do the same thing to pictures on your phone, or even your friend’s photos on Facebook? Well now you can with this $0.99 app developed by Goddard Consulting!
When you first open “Defaced” you will be asked if you want to link it with your Facebook account. If you choose to do so this will allow you to not only view and use your Facebook pictures, but also the pictures of all your Facebook friends!
Once you have everything setup you will notice that at the bottom of the screen is a menu. There are two options: “Deface,” and “Friends.” If you press the “Friends” option you will be taken to a screen where you can add photos from one of three different sources: Facebook, your Camera Roll, and you can also take a new photo with the camera.
Once you have selected a photo you can add things like a mustache or goatee with a simple interface. At the right of the screen is a scroll bar full of different items you can add. Below that bar is an “Undo” and a “Save” button. Below the photo on the left side is a scroll bar that controls the size of the currently selected item, with a preview box just to the right of it. Once you have selected the hat or mustache or whatever it is that you want to “deface” the photo with all you have to do is grab it out of the preview box and drag it onto the picture.
While there obviously is not a lot of real usefulness to this app, it is a fun a simple concept that is worth at least a look. The only problem I did have with this app is that it seems to lag a little bit, and it gets worse the longer the app is open. This was not really a big problem though. Restarting the app seemed to fix it as well. Besides that little issue I would say that if all you’re looking for is a quick laugh, Defaced might be just the app that you’re looking for!

Add a silly mustache, beard, glasses, eyebrows or hat to your photo or a photo of a friend! Save the result, or upload it to Facebook to share it with your friends! Photos can come from your Facebook profile picture, your Facebook friends’ profile pictures, your iPhone camera or photo library.
