REVIEW – “Take out your frustration with this cute fighting game!”
For those looking for a fighting game that resembles Mortal Kombat they are not going to like this game but if you want something quirky and fun this might fit the bill. Personally I found this game simple and amusing but lacking in a few very important respects.
When you first start off the game you get a screen with two types of neighbors. You’ve got a rocker family on one side and a clean cut family on the other. You have the ability to chose a character from either of the couples to fight the other couple. On the bottom you get a choice of three different scenes to play in.
Now this game is also multiplayer. The way to do this is by clicking the icons on the top right and left of the screen. If the icon above a 
certain couple looks like a person that means a live person will be playing that character. If there is a computer monitor above the couple that means the computer will play that character. Obviously if you want to play alone you choose one couple to be played by the computer.
Now with most multiplayer games each person plays on their own console. This is not the case, for this game you each use the same iphone. The screen is split in half and you each tap your own side in order to fight. This is good if only one of you has an iphone, but the screen is really too small to comfortably play the game together.
The gameplay of the game is rather simple. You have a weapon of choice which is based on the setting you choose to battle. The weapon then moves up and down on the screen. The object is to push different household items off their shelf in order to crash onto the offending neighbor. This is done by tapping the screen and moving your weapon forward. Bigger objects require more pushing and cause more damage.
There are also a number of pill shaped powerups that can help you attack your neighbor. Some of these powerups can cause your weapon to move faster, give you more strength or even cause all of the objects to move toward your neighbor.
There is an element of progression to the game as you get 100 points for every battle you win at the onset of the game and then once you reach 500 points you earn a star. After that the game remains the same at then you have to reach 1500 points in order to earn another star. I would have liked to see a bigger reward at this stage than simply a star. An additional scene or character would have been a much better reward.
The game itself is simple and fun but it does tend to get repetitive. I would like to see the levels change or get harder as time goes on. I feel like with very little change going on it will be very boring to try and gain all five stars. If you want something simple and with very cute graphics then this is a game you might enjoy. It is good for kids but I think that parents may fail to be amused by it.
As far as my other issue with the game, I both like and dislike the idea of multiplayer being played on the same console. It is conveient to have something to simply hand to the kids that they can play in the car but on the other hand it can get crowded. It would be nice to be given the option to play over a wi fi connection.
