I have always loved pictures from photographers in which the majority of the picture is done in black and white and only certain areas are filled with color. I have always wondered how they made those pictures so precise and beautifully done. Well now you can have that same spellbinding effect on your iphone!

This app is amazing, but it does take a little bit of practice to get it just right. The great thing is that it works with any resolution photo so if you have high quality photos loaded into your phone or touch they will work here. The only thing to remember is that larger resolution pictures may need a little longer to make the changes so progress slowly.

When you first open the app it will ask if you want to see a tutorial and I highly recommend it. It shows the features of the app and how to use them in a very easy way. But for the sake of the review I will give a brief tutorial here as well. Once you have a picture, either by grabbing one from your album or by taking one with your camera, it will take you a screen that has a number of buttons across the top. The first button is the undo button and it goes back two steps.

The next is the move button which allows you to move around the picture when zoomed in without making any changes. Color and Erase both work as a brush with color putting color back into the picture and erase turning the picture black and white. Simply drag your finger across the screen to make these adjustments. On the bottom right of your screen you will see a button called Brush, this allows you to change the diameter of your brush.

The final button is the most important and that is Magic. What this does is it allows you to tap a section of the picture and drag downwards in order to make that color turn black and white. The more you drag the more color tolerance there is and therefore the larger section that turns black and white. This will allow you to single out bold colors in an image and really make them stand out.

If you cannot get it perfectly the way you want it, that is when you make use of the color and erase tools. Once you have the picture looking the way you want it, you can click effect and modify the contrast and brightness.

I was honestly amazed at how easy this app was to use and the results were fantastic. Check out the before and after on a picture I modified.
