REVIEW – “Pop, Pop, Away!”
It is no wonder that BubbleWrap is popular with over 5 million users. This game is so deceptively simple to play and requires no long explanations to get started. Based on the premise that people love to play with bubble wrap packaging, this app is a game where you can pop bubbles. There is a timer and you can pop as much as you can during that time. Also some of the bubbles mysteriously inflate again and need to be re-popped. Every time you pop a bubble, you hear the similar sound of really popping bubble wrap, which I found very satisfying.
Based on how many bubbles you pop, you can rate your final score against other players around the world. BubbleWrap loads instantly and is fun and easy to play. A fun way to lose track of time and a great stress reliever, BubbleWrap is addictive and entertaining.
However, there are some aspects to the app that are not as appealing. With the latest version, BubbleWrap now has ads running, some of which feature scantily clad women, prompting parents to remove the app from their children’s iPhones. The other aspect of some concern is the app has been known to freeze up the iPhone or iPod Touch with the latest release, causing frustration in players.
Some suggestions for improvement include making multiple game levels, adding special bubbles that did something different or raised the stakes somehow to make the game more challenging, as well as speeding up the timer.
Despite its new problems, BubbleWrap is a fun and easy game to play and it is easy to see why people love to play it. A great concept because it incorporates what people like to do naturally, BubbleWrap definitely is a good idea. I would be interested to see what new games and features the dev; font-size:12ptelopers of this app will come up with next!
