REVIEW – “Destroy the object of your frustration in this awesome game!”
Have you lost a lot of money in the stock market? Maybe you’re more than just a little bit frustrated that the government bailed out a bunch of banks that have done nothing but take advantage of us. Well if that’s the case, this may be exactly the game you need to calm your nerves! Bailout Wars is a “Tower Defense” game where the object is to take out the bankers, lawyers and CEO’s before they can get to the bailout money!
When you open Bailout Wars you will see an opening splash screen and then you will be taken to the main menu. The menu is accented by a funny logo in the upper right corner, and the music just adds to the experience. The menu has four main buttons where you can start a new game, check your statistics, set the game options or view a brief “Help” section so that you can figure out how to play.
Once you are set and ready to go just click on the “New Game” button. You will see a brief loading screen, and when it is finished you will be asked to touch the screen when you are ready play. On the main game screen you will see the White House on the left side with all of the “Bailout Money” stuffed into the front of it. Your objective is now to protect that money.
Once the game starts you will see all kinds of bankers, VP’s, Stock Brokers, and CEO’s that will come after the bailout money from the right side of the screen. There are several different ways to stop them dead in their tracks! You can grab them by touching them with your finger and throw them up in the air, or down at the ground. You can also grab them and shake them will their money falls out and their clothes fall off.
As you get further in the game you will accumulate gold that is used to buy assistance. You can buy and upgrade everything from a Sniper to the ultimate weapon, Uncle Sam! Gameplay starts slowly but quickly changes pace to fast and furious! The most confusing part is that not all types of attacks work well on all types of enemies. For example, to take out a CEO you either have to use weapons (Snipers, Uncle Sam, etc.) or throw other enemies at him until he falls over!
This game really takes a simple concept and turns it into hours of enjoyment. Along the way you will earn “Achievements.” Some of them are difficult, some are easy, and some of them are just plain hilarious. If you are looking for a game to just kick back and enjoy look no further than Bailout Wars! At just $0.99 this game won’t hurt your wallet, but it what it will allow you to do is enjoy releasing some of your pent up frustration. Head to the App Store and get your copy today!
