In all the excitement of a pregnancy, picking a baby name is often among the most exciting and sometimes daunting experiences. Instead of filling your shelf with on more “What To Expect When You’re Expecting” type of book, why not try an app that offers the same experience in an even more unique way.
Baby Dice is a fun new way to pick a name for your pending of joy. While it could have a more explanatory interface, Baby Dice is fun. Want to give your baby a name that reflects your Asian heritage? Simply tap on the world icon you’ll find at the bottom of your screen. There are over 60 countries to choose from! There’s China, Japan, Korea; the list is endless. Select your desired 
country and let the fun begin.
Baby Dice gives you a name and then you’re left to play around. Flip the dice by tilting your iPod or iPhone and a new name will turn out before you. Want a girl’s name? Then simply click the female icon at the bottom of the screen an the dice will turn pink and purple. If you’re looking for name’s for the new little mister in your life, click the male icon and the dice will turn varying shades of blue.
Baby Dice isn’t just a tilt and whirl app, oh no. Sometimes, you will find stars above letters in a name. That means there are alternate letters that could replace that letter, giving you a new name or varied spelling of the current name. Touch and hold the letter and a list of letters will appear to you, vertically. Want to mix it up again? Titl or tap on the screen and you’re off and running again.
All in all, Baby Dice is an app worth trying. My only qualms are that it would be nice to be able to search for names by letter and if each name appeared with its pronunciation and meaning. Still, It’s an app worth checking out. Give it a roll!

Baby Dice is a smart new game to find baby names in a playful experience! Wrapped in a game of dice there are over 25.000 first names from over 50 countries to choose from. Get inspired by names from all over the world!
There are various techniques available to browse the names:
- Choose between male and female names
- The colors will change to pink or blue accordingly
- Just play dice by shaking your iPhone and see what happens!
- Letters marked with a star can be changed
- Touch and hold a second to show up all alternative letters
- Narrow down your search by choosing specific countries of origin
