Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Lite (Free)
Version 1.0.2
REVIEW – “Real game show excitement with Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Lite”
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Lite brings the actual television show to your iPhone or iPod Touch. This includes video footage of Meredith Vieira and all of the show’s graphics.
Work your way up to the top of the questions – or up to the $2,000 mark. The lite version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire only goes up to this point, then users are urged to purchase the full version. I think that an app based on a hugely successful national television show, created by a large developer, should be fully free, but the developers do not. So if you want all the action of the game, you’ll have to pay.
But you can still try out a few questions and even use lifelines along the way. The experts are introduced before you start to play, if you are willing to take the time to read through all of their bios. After answering the $1,000 question, your expert will be unlocked. This means you only have one question you can use the expert for, unless you are playing the full version.
The other lifelines include phoning a friend, double dipping and asking the audience. When you ask the audience you will see a bar graph representing which answer the audience feels is correct. Double dipping lets you answer twice should your first one be incorrect. And when you phone a friend the app presents you with a random quote from someone, they even provide a percentage representing how confident they are in their answer.
Even though Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Lite is limited in the number of questions available per game, there is a large pool of questions that the app pulls from. I played Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Lite four times and only had four questions that were repeats.

Playing the game is easy: tap your answer, tap yes it is your final answer (or no, or walk away). After each question the app goes back to an animation representing your climb up the question ladder as it reveals the next category of question. You can skip this, however, by tapping the screen. Good idea since this becomes repetitive and takes a lot of time.
Overall, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Lite is classic trivia. You won’t get many difficult questions with this free app unless you are willing to upgrade to the full version, but for fans of the show this is a great representation.
