Usually when an app is labeled the “free” edition, users assume it is missing out on some functionality or information or feature. This is not the case with USA Factbook Free. This app has everything a person could want. It truly is a condensed, mobile version of the USA Factbook print edition.
This app has important documents to US history including the Declaration of Independence and the Articles of Confederation. It even provides basic facts and background about the United States as an introduction to the historical documents.
Information about all 50 states is accessible including the state flag, seal, nickname, location on a map, capital, area, population… every basic statistic, demographic or political information a person could need to know.
USA Factbook Free has eight maps of the US from a highway map to a music map.
You can read about the US anthem and then listen to it before learning about the major cities of the United States and all 44 presidents.
This app is packed with information. It could easily be the only resource a person would need to access basic demographic, political and statistical information about the United States. On the president pages, users are one click away from the Wikipedia page for each president, adding to the amount of information available.
Everything is incredibly easy to navigate. All menus are clear to read and well labeled. Also, every screen has a “back” button that makes returning easy. There is nothing to complain about with USA Factbook Free! The app should be part of every iPhone and iPod. A wonderful reference.
