REVIEW- “Educate yourself on the history of the day!”
History buffs rejoice! This app is meant for you! Today in History Lite is recommended for history fans, lovers of trivia facts, and for fans of this day in history. The app took a while to boot up, but when it did I was able to view every important historic event that took place today, all the way back to -30 B.C! When I’ve read the Today in History excerpts in newspapers, they usually only go so far as a few years, but I was impressed that this app went the extra mile and included B.C historic events. Users can also view the Births of that day, as well as each person is famous for or what they accomplished in their lifetime. Deaths of the day are also available, if you’re feeling morbidly curious about who died.
Users can also view the special Holidays or Observances of the particular day. If you want to view past dates, you can click on the date at the top of the screen and choose which day you’d like to view. Wikipedia supplies much of the information available on the site, and if you click on a particular person or event, you can view the Wikipedia page in order to learn in-depth about the person or event. I was impressed with that feature because it was helpful to be redirected to a reputable site about topics I found fascinating.
Overall, the Today in History app is the best way to get the history information you want in a simple, easy-to use way. Each feature of the app loaded quickly and there was a lot of valuable information included in each feature. I liked that the app was connected with Wikipedia to ensure that users got enough information to educate them.
