Lose It! gives many dieters exactly what they want – the ability to take their diet with them wherever they go.

Because Lose It! works as an iPhone app, dieters can easily and quickly access the variety of details that Lose It provides. Let’s look at some of these:

The first thing you do when you start using Lose It! is enter your current weight and your goal weight. You tell the program how many pounds you’d like to lose in a week and it suggests a certain calorie intake for each day.

Once you have a calorie allotment and your goals set, you can begin entering both your food and your activity for the day. Lose It! has a huge database of foods, so you can easily find the food you want to enter. If you don’t find the food, you can enter it and it will be stored for you.

One of the best features of Lose It! is the slider that shows you how many calories you have eaten today and how many you have left. While this information is also offered in text form, seeing it on the slider (as the slider moves downward throughout the day) is a good visual reminder of how many calories you have left to eat.

If you exercise, add that activity to your daily log. The calories you burned in that activity will be added to your daily allotment of allowable calories. It’s best not to eat those extra calories if you want to lose weight. To maintain weight, you eat those calories.

Log your weight as often (or as sporadically) as you wish, and you can see your weight loss success on a graph. Seeing that downward movement of the graph can be motivating for dieters.
