Letrix: Free Word Edition (Free)
REVIEW – “Be Entertained with this Letrix Word Game!”
If you are fond of classic word games, Letrix is the app for you! The idea of the game is to make as many as 3 to 7 letter words as you can from the letter tiles dropping down from the screen. You can slide the tiles left and right or pull them down as they’re dropping until they land at the bottom. Once they have landed, you can only move tiles within a ’stack’. You can do this by sliding them left/right or up/down to swap the letter tiles. When you make a word, the word will light up, vanish, and be added to your total score. When you’ve completed a level, you will ‘unlock’ the next level and your score will rollover if you continue playing.
While playing this app, I found that it was a bit difficult to play because sometimes the tiles wouldn’t move as fast as I would have liked or as easy as I would have liked them to move. Hopefully in newer versions, developers can make this feature more stable since it is crucial to playing the game. I liked that there were two play modes, Rolling Play, which means seeing how far you can get in the game, as well as Stand Alone Play, where users can dip in and out of previous levels.
If you are a fan of games like Tetris or Scrabble, you will find that this app is a great game to create words and gain a high score.

Developer’s Notes
This game is a highly addictive arcade word game.
It combines the movement and timing of tetris with the word juggling of scrabble. Touch-slide the ever falling lettertiles around the screen to make words, and not just while they fall but when they’re stacking up.
Unlike other games you have full control over word making with your tiles.
When you’ve made a word, you choose when you’re ready for it to be counted; allowing you to increase its length or make a combo. A simple tap and your word vanish while the points roll in, the tiles above falling into the gap.
But beware, if you let a stack of tiles get too tall and hit the Danger Zone at the top of the screen, then its over!
Control is simple and intuitive, and the visuals elegant.
Letrix has an extensive US and UK English dictionary at it’s hear, covering words of three to seven letters. There are 15 levels to test yourself against, with tiles dropping in varied patterns, increasing in speed and number as your progress.
Score-multipliers for combos and longer words reward clever play.
There are two play modes in this edition, Rolling Play: seeing how far through the game you can get, and Stand Alone Play where you can dip in and out of previous levels.
