REVIEW – “Find the job of your dreams from your iPhone”
The Job Search app is a great free download for those who are searching the job market for their next big career move. Anyone who is unsatisfied with their current job or is feeling the woes of the current unemployment rate can benefit from doing simple searches on this app from their iPhone. Job Search is backed by Indeed.com, which states that it is “the most comprehensive search engine for jobs”. There is no need to register for a website with this app, just click and search, which is a definite plus.
When opening this app, it took awhile for it to load, and when it did it was a plain white screen with simple ‘What’ and ‘Where’ search features for the job you are looking for. If users want to use the location services feature of the iPhone to help find jobs close to them, that feature is available with this app.
Once I entered in various keywords for job fields I was interested, I was impressed with how fast this app loaded an extensive list of all the jobs in my area. There were over 200 jobs listed for just one keyword I entered, which is great for anyone who has been searching for a job with no luck. I was also impressed with the fact that users can apply for jobs straight from the app, of course it will redirect you to the appropriate site but with other job apps I have used, this feature is not always available. Users can also e-mail the job to themselves or others, and view their recent searches from the home page.
My overall impression was that this app allowed for instant results with an extensive list of jobs available. I would definitely recommend this app for anyone who is bogged down with their job search and wants instant results.
