Hero of Sparta Lite (Free)
REVIEW- “Plunge right into the Action of Sparta with this app”
The Hero of Sparta Lite app is great for anyone who loves hack and slash role playing games and wants a bit of Sparta spirit in their lives. The title screen for this definitely had an ancient Greek feel to it, with the Spartan warrior with sword and hand and the ability to choose between creating a new game, continuing with the old, viewing options or buying the full verson of Hero of Sparta. Basically, the object of the game is to hunt and kill an enemy and focus your attacks in order to obtain green and blue “bonus” orbs. Once I started playing the actual game, I was very impressed with the quality of graphics, especially on the iPhone. I found that the controls were also very good because it is modeled after joysticks rather than an arrow pad, making it intuitive to a gamer’s touch.

iked that there were hints available in the Options menu to give helpful tips to gamers and enhance the gaming experience. Checkpoints are also available to allow for automatic saving after passing a certain point, great for the longer levels that players may come across in the paid version. I find most background music that comes along with apps to be distracting and annoying, but with Hero of Sparta it was actually pretty interesting to listen to and made the experience a bit more entertaining. During game play, there is also an arrow that directs players where to go, so there’s no aimless wandering around the game. I was a bit disappointed that the Lite version was indeed very light, there was only one level for users to test out before committing to the paid version.
All in all, if you are a fan of role playing games, you will love this app and its gorgeous graphics, interesting features and a no-fuss gaming experience.
