REVIEW – “Bringing a whole new meaning to ‘Open Mic Night.’ ”
Many apps start out with a good premise such as this one. But very few of them actually follow through with an interface that is not frighteningly difficult to figure out, and just work. FaceMic for Facebook by Voicetal has accomplished both of these things! FaceMic is an app that is designed to post Audio, text and pictures directly to your Facebook account.
When you first open this you are greeted by the recording screen. One of the things that really sets this app apart from many others is the quality of the recordings that are made here. The interface is simple. You just press the mic to record, and then press it again when you are finished.
Once you have recorded your audio it is simple to add text and/or a picture to it using the text box and camera button above the microphone. Once you have finished and are ready to upload you just have to click the “Publish to Facebook” button at the bottom of the screen, or if you would like to post it specifically to a friend’s Facebook wall then press the button just to the right of that one. This will bring up a list of all your Facebook friends and allow you to select a friend to send your message to.
At the bottom of the screen you will find a menu with a “History” tab and a “Setup” tab. These allow you to see previous posts that you have made to Facebook, and to set up your Facebook account with the proper permissions for FaceMic to work properly. You can not only view previous posts from here, but also listen to audio that you have previously posted.
This is probably one of the most useful social apps that I have seen of its type. The interface is extremely simple, and it seamlessly uploads the content directly to Facebook. At only $0.99 this app can be a whole lot of fun and I have thoroughly enjoyed it!
