Epocrates is a great app with amazing details and features. From the beginning I must note that such an app only seems to be really beneficial to those in the medical field that are exposed to and prescribe different medicines and on an everyday basis.
Epocrates is continually updated with the latest medical information thus keeping medical practitioners in the loop and on the cusp of an ever changing and in many ways revolutionary medical world! Joining Epocrates is free, simply establish a username and password and the medical world is all yours, metaphorically speaking, of course.
Epocrates gives users information on dosage, cautions, and anticipated ill reactions to the medication, the price of the medicine and what it looks like. Epocrates also shows users pictures of what particular infections look like so that might better diagnose a patient. It also gives professionals alternatives to mainstream medications that would not only assist in expanding their clientele, but might even save patients money, which is always a bonus anywhere!
Epocrates is an easy to navigate app with icons that are not only self-descriptive but labeled so that users know exactly what information to expect. I’m no medical professional. I’m not even close to being a science geek, but I think Epocrates is an app that in itself is revolutionary. It allows doctors and other medical professionals to have a series of medical books and years of textbook knowledge in the palm of their hands. Not only that, but receiving the latest medical updates in medicine means that no matter where patients were or what resources their medical care provider had available, their provider could at least point them in the right direction of access.
