Contrary to what many people may think, just being a doctor or a nurse does not mean that you are automatically able to pronounce every drug known to man. If are constantly in a situation where you need to be able to pronounce them, or if maybe you’re just curious about the drugs you have been prescribed, this app may be for you!
The interface of this app is extremely simple. When you open the app, you are greeted by a long list of drug names. At the right is a bar with the alphabet that you can touch to go directly to a letter and at the top is a search bar. Basically the way this app works is you find the drug you would like information on and press it. Once you have selected a drug you can press the “play” button to hear it pronounced, or select “Google” or “Wikipedia” to get more information about it.
This app provides a very easy to use browser within the app, so you won’t have to constantly leave and rerun the app to get information on a variety of drugs and their uses. At the bottom of the browser you have a “forward,” “back,” “refresh,” “stop,” and even a “Safari” button to leave the app and view the page in Safari. When you finish with that drug you can easily go back and find another one by pressing the arrow in the upper left corner.
This “Lite” version of the app comes with over 200 different drugs. If you are a doctor, or if you are just way too interested in drugs (hmm…) the full version of this app has over 2500 drugs in it! This app is easy to use, and if you deal with drugs on a regular basis can be a very handy tool to have around. I would highly recommend it to doctors and patients alike!
