REVIEW- “Connect the dots with this board game app”
The Connect 5 Free app is an awesome game to add to your collection of iPhone puzzle games, especially if you love board games like Checkers. The goal of Connect 5 is simple—connect 5 of your dots before your opponent does, and block their attempts to connect 5 of their dots. The first game I played I won, so I was definitely happy that this was a game that wasn’t too difficult to master. The game allows for 1 player or 2 players, so this game is great to play with friends or family. The sounds included in the game were pretty standard and each time you won a game there was a fun winning sound that played. If you make a mistake during game play, you can simply press the ‘Undo’ button, which I think is a great feature for any strategic board game.
I was confused why they had to name the difficulty of each level a silly name such as Toilet Cleaner and Silly Monkey. I was also disappointed that they only provided 2 levels of difficulty for the free version, but if users do want the extra five levels of difficulty they can choose to upgrade to the paid version. I did not like that the board was big, in fact it hindered the game experience because players have to move the board around to see the entire board and place their pieces accordingly. I think the board should be zoomed out and be the size of the screen in order to eliminate unnecessary moves of the screen. I also would have liked the option to toggle with the sound effects of the game, and turn them on and off when necessary.
All in all, I think this app is a great demo for the Connect 5 board game, and it’s a fun & entertaining app to play on the go.
