REVIEW – “Basketball Live worth is worth at least a test drive!”
Are you tired of only hearing about pro sports news? Just want to catch up on the latest news on the purer game of basketball? “College Basketball Live!” just may be the app for you! This release from Plusmo, Inc will bring you all of the latest news stories, standings and scores on your favorite teams, conferences and also of the top 25 teams in the nation. All of this in one easy to use app! 
The “scores” page is where you will begin when you open this app. On this page you can quickly check the latest scores. The scores are sorted by “My Teams,” “Top 25″ and All. This makes it quick and easy to find the scores that you are looking for, or just to get an overview of all of the days games, or even see previous by using the arrows at the top of the page to change the date you are looking at. The one thing I would have liked to have seen added to this page is the ability to scroll forward and see what games are coming up in the next few days. This seems to have been an oversight on the part of the developers.
On the bottom of the screen is a menu bar that will take you to pages for editing your “teams,” checking the current standings in pretty much every Division I conference and viewing the latest news on a variety of topics related to college basketball. The “My Teams” page is easy to use and navigate, and includes pretty much every team, even the ones from smaller conferences such as the Missouri Valley Conference.
This app is very easy to navigate, and allows you to keep up with scores of your favorite teams and conferences. Unfortunately, the ” News” area of this app is not that great, and can’t really be customized either. There really isn’t any way to search for news on certain schools either. The live scoring is a nice feature in this app, but it is just overrun with way too many shortcomings and/or annoyances in the rest of the program.
To summarize, while this app may not be a suitable replacement for the information you can get online, or even in some of the other mobile sports apps, it does offer something that most of the others do not; the social aspect. For some this is going to be a “game changer” and for others the interface shortcomings are just going to be too much. If you are a college basketball fanatic, it can’t hurt to give this app a try (it is free!), but if you really want in depth analysis and sports news you’re probably going to end up using a more mainstream app, such as Fox Sports, ESPN, or CBS Sports Mobile.
