Take a quiz and find out how nerdy you are with Are You Nerdy? A lighthearted look at what is considered nerdy in society, Are You Nerdy? is a simple questionnaire about lifestyle choices, hobbies, and interests. Intended purely for pleasure, this iPhone app however does shed some insight on to popular opinion of what constitutes a nerd and what does not.
While the definition of being a nerd is quite broad in its outreach as explained by this app, with loose associations to “sci-fi,” “geeky,” and other terms typically associated with being a nerd, this iPhone app does go a little deeper if you search. Being a nerd by this definition means a certain independence in thought, an open mind, a bright and inquisitive nature, and a person who seeks creativity in arts and popular culture.
However, like many quiz-type games, everything is an opinion and there are no real facts. The questions and answers too are very broad in scope and hence, really offer vague and generic results at best.
Overall, this is a fun and short free iPhone app and while it has room for improvement, it does make you laugh when you see different results and hence has some entertainment value. It also opens up the idea that being a nerd is not necessarily a bad thing and actually shows some initiative and desire for creativity.
