I remember when I was growing up going to the arcade on occasion. One of my favorite games was always the basketball games where you had to make as many baskets as possible within a certain time limit. I do have to admit that I was definitely skeptical as to how that kind of game could really be done on a mobile phone, but I was pleasantly surprised at what Skyworks had to offer!
You start this app at the main menu where you are given the option to view your high scores or play a “Classic Game.” If you are not sure how to play, there is also a little “i” button in the bottom right corner of the screen that will bring up a tutorial.
Gameplay basically consists of you picking basketballs and “flicking” then towards the goal. The “Classic Game” that is offered in this free version is just a basic timed game to see how many baskets you can make in 45 seconds. The game plays smoothly and has pretty good animations that help to keep it interesting.
The ads in this version of the game do get a bit obtrusive at times, but if you enjoy the gameplay you can get a paid version of “Arcade Hoops Basketball” that not only removes the ads, but also offers several other game modes. I would highly recommend this app as it is a great time kill, and is a simple enough concept, and yet still challenging enough to be fun for all ages.!
