Not everyone would be welcome at a spelling bee. If you’re one of those less-than-stellar spellers, you might want to install this handy app.
While it would be considered fully featured, we think that the real gem here is the simplicity. Simply type in a word, and see what the program can do for you.
If you initially type your word wrong, the program will suggest words that you might have meant, and you can simply click on the word you meant to type and the app will move you to the next page. If you get it right, the app simply moves you immediately right along to the next page.
Once you have your word spelled right, you will be tapped into Google word lookup. Here you can see derivations on the word (or phrases in which you can use the word) as well as a number of definitions for your word.
But that’s not all. You can also read about people or places that also share that word or meaning. See how simple this is?
If you need it, you can tap into British English or Canadian English spellings and definitions. Do this under the “language” setting.
If you often struggle to find the right word for something, you can use the spell checker to suggest similar words. The suggested words might have the same meaning or they might be derivations of your word. They might mean something completely different but have some similar spelling technique. In either event, the app lets you think about words a little differently by providing different words that spell or sound the same.
While this is an excellent app for those who struggle with spelling, most people can benefit in some fashion. If someone throws a big word at you, simply plug it in (and correct the spelling if necessary) and see what they meant. Then keep looking for a good comeback word.

whoah! now that is actually very cool. i feel like so many apps provide little value other than novelty but that’s definitely a great one. i know the creators of the free touch apps review site http://freetouchapps.com/ so i’ll drop them a link about this one and see if it gets posted.
