REVIEW – “A puzzle game that is fun for all ages!”
Everyone knows that the real star of the “Ice Age” movies has always been the nut-loving squirrel Scrat. In this game you take control of Scrat in an effort to gather all of the acorns and find the end of each level. If you are a fan of the movies, or even if you just like puzzle games that make you think this game is definitely worth a look!
Right away I noticed that the graphics in this game are top notch. The intro graphics are sharp, as are the menus and main game screen. 
Along with that comes music and sound effects that really complement them very nicely. There are three main options in the menu. You can continue where you left off, select any level you have previously played or set the game “options.”
Once you have set the basic options how you want them it’s time to get started on the game! The in-game interface is extremely simple. Basically the way it works is you just have to touch where you want Scrat to go. The game is set up from a “side-scroller” 
perspective. As you work your way through the levels you will find obstacles like spikes, dinosaurs and various other types of enemies. It is up to you to help Scrat safely navigate through all of the chaos to find the end of the level!
Along the way you will see acorns stashed in various places. 
Some of them are easy to get to while others can be quite challenging. One of the good things about this game is the fact that it starts out simple enough for pretty much anyone to enjoy, but it gets much more difficult as you make your way through several of the levels. 
As you play you will see signs that will help teach you how various enemies and items work in the game.
All you have to do is touch them. I was pleasantly surprised at how many little twists are in this game. They are introduced at a fast enough rate to keep you glued to this game for literally hours on end. And in addition to the gameplay you will also see several other well known characters from Ice Age along the way! If at any time you need help along the way, or if you just want to pause the game for a few seconds, there is a “pause” button in the upper left corner of the screen. The game will be paused and a menu will come up that will allow you to start the level over, quit the game or view how the controls for various actions work.
If you have been looking for the perfect game to distract a young child for a few minutes, it just doesn’t get much better than this game. With that said, I myself had a lot of fun playing it as well. While it may seem a little steep when compared to a lot of games in the App Store, the price point of $4.99 for a game that could literally keep your child busy for hours on end is definitely worth it.
