REVIEW – “A great way to organize your thoughts, notes, research…just about anything!”
As a writer and researcher I am always looking for ways to organize research papers, notes and especially storylines. iBlueSky does all that for me and so much more. It allows me to create a very clear and very customizable mind map that is perfect for anyone who is trying to organize anything important.
When you first open the app you are graced with two premade mind maps which explain how iBlueSky works and the upgrades that can be found in the iBlueSky version 2 upgrade. Spend a minute or two going through the mind maps and you’ll find more uses for the app that you might have initially thought.
Then comes the fun part making your very own mind map. The program does not come with instructions but it is completely easy to use. You start off with the center of your mind map which will also be the title of your project or mind map. Once you have this center bubble created then click the plus sign to add a branch. Give that branch a topic and then add more branches, and then more branches. Before you know it your project is completely organized and ready to make it to the final product.
Some things that I really like is that if you click a bubble and then click edit you can change the color of the bubble or add details for future reference. You can even click each bubble and move it around if it makes you see things clearer. You can zoom in and and out and very easily move through your mind map so it moves as quickly as your thoughts do.
Another great thing is that you can easily export it as a pdf so that it can be easy to see on your computer and don’t worry about the size of your project either because the screen of the mind map gets very large, 1500x the size of the iphone screen. So you’re only limited by your imagination.
Anything that can help me organize my thoughts and easily arrange things into a natural progression is a great help. Whether you are working on your career or you’re a student this will be a very valuable tool.
Now you might be a little turned off by the price but after looking at a few other mind mapping tools I really think that if you are going to spend the money on any mind mapping tool, it might as well be this one. The ability to put more information in the bubbles, change their arrangement and change their color and this allows for much better organization and creativity.
Personally I love it. As you can see from the pictures I have already started using it to organize some of my research and it is perfect for getting my thoughts together.
