How many different logins/account numbers do you use
on a daily/weekly basis? If you’re like most people it is probably more than you care to try and remember! iAccounts is an iPhone app that is designed to help keep all of your passwords and information available, and at the same time safe should you ever lose your device. It even has an easy to use backup solution that works with both Mac and PC! If you’d like more information about how it works and a chance to win your own free copy of it then read on!
When you open up iAccounts you will be taken to the home screen. The first thing that you’ll want to do before you start adding information is create your “PIN” number by touching the padlock icon in the menu at the bottom of the screen. Once you have set your 4-digit PIN, you will be required to enter it to open the app and access your information.
Once you have your PIN number entered you can start adding logins to the database. You do this by touching the “+” button in the upper right corner. This brings up a screen where you select a “group” that your information is from such as “logins,” “emails,” “finance,” etc. Selecting a group will bring up a few pre-defined fields for you to fill out that are related to the group you selected. Some groups have a lot of them while others have none. In either case you can add more fields to your item by touching the “add new field” button and selecting a field 
type to add.
For the most part the categories, and fields available seemed to make sense, and I was able to quickly enter in most of my information. One thing that would have been nice is to have a way to create a custom “field” with your own title. That said, I didn’t really run into any major problems entering data, I just had to hunt once or twice to find a field that made sense for what I was trying to enter.
An important note is that that if you or someone else enter the PIN number incorrectly 5 times in a row 
it will delete all of your information! Thankfully you can download a free utility called iBackup for your Mac or PC that will allow you to wirelessly sync all of your information to your computer! To set up wireless sync all you have to do is open your “Settings” app and enter your computer’s IP address into the “iAccounts” settings. Once that is set all you have to do is head to your sync screen via the button in the bottom right corner of the app, and touch “Backup.”
If this app sounds like something that you would be interested in I would encourage you to at least try the free “Lite” version of the app. Its only limitation is that you can only have 10 entries in it. This app is so unsecure! If you have it open and your iphone goes to sleep, when you activate the phone again, iAccounts doesn’t ask for the PIN. It goes straight into your critical data. If your phone is stolen with iAccounts open, then no encryption will save you. The Developers never responded to my 3 emails. All sent using the hyperlink on their website!
Disappointing!
My question would be why would you leave this app open? I use it as a quick reference to jump into it, grab a password/login/account # and then close it right away. I think they did a great job of making this app quick and simple, but at the same time safe for the average user.
I just love this app. I tested many password managers and iAccounts has the best workflow on the iPhone. It looks like an App designed by Apple itself. Got in touch with the developers, the update is coming soon. Recommended.
