Review – “Fantastic Quality and Variety of Frames for your iPhone Pics”

There are no lack of Frame and Photography Apps on the iTunes Store and over the course of the last few weeks I’ve realized that I’m really interested in finding as many to try as possible. This is a personal endeavor, but luckily every now and again one comes along that’s worth reviewing. Frame Wiz is just such an App.
I have found that a lot of the Frame or Photography Apps out there are of surprisingly low quality. As I am not an App developer I suspect that maybe the market is full of these types of Apps because they may be simple to write, and unfortunately I think that a lot of the time there isn’t thought put into the actual contents or usability of the App, so what you end up with is a crummy product. Luckily this App stands out as something I think at least a little bit of work went into, and care was obviously given to making sure that the quality shows through.
First, lets start with how to use the App. You can either choose a photo or take a picture and start editing it right away. The photo itself is entirely rotatable/scalable to fit the frame exactly. One of the most important features of this App, and I may say this several times, is that there are lots of frames to choose from. They have 12 Categories to choose from, ranging from Classic, to Seasons, Holidays, Music and even “Emo” (which I found to be cute).
I was impressed not only with the quantity but also the quality of the frames, and most assuredly part of the reason I like this one so much is because it’s really super-easy to use, while also providing pretty detailed editing. Even really novice people will be able to edit their photos nicely into these frames, they won’t look like you simply added a border.
Once you’ve selected your photo and positioned it into your frame you have a couple of options to edit the photo, or add a text field, as you can see from the screenshots below:
Then, you save your photo. Before you can share it you must save it. Unfortunately one of the few drawbacks of this App is that it saves into a local in-App gallery, and won’t show up immediately on your Camera Roll – in order to export you do have to go into the Saved Photos section of the App and export. The Saved Photos section keeps your photos categorized by which Genre of Frame you used – some people will find this bothersome. Within this gallery though, you can share via Email, Facebook & TwitPic.
I honestly think that at this price it’s well worth the money. It’s really fantastic to find a quality App in a sea of limited options, and luckily this wont break the bank at only $1.99!
