This is one of the more unique puzzle games offered for the iphone because you will more than likely never encounter the same puzzle twice. What this means is that you do no have to worry about playing this game through or quickly exhausting all the puzzles. For me that speaks volumes because I hate puzzle games that I beat within a day or two and then simply go to waste.
The game has three different modes of play all of which work on the same principle. The most popular mode is challenge mode and that is where you work through levels that get progressively harder and you work under a time limit.
There is also arcade mode where you try to solve as many puzzles as you can within a specified time limit.
The final mode is free play in which you are given all the time you need to work through puzzles.
Now the way you solve puzzles is you must fling the ball-like creatures into one another in order to knock them off the screen. There are a few rules, the first is that the balls can only travel in a straight line. The second is that they cannot hit balls directly next to them and the third is that they cannot be slide off the board without being hit by another ball.
The graphics are colorful and very simple. The game very easily takes you through and explains the rules. I like that it is a game that is easily accessible to just about everyone. The puzzles also have only one solution which makes them get pretty challenging to figure out the right order of things.
The free version only covers the first few difficulty levels but you will still get thousands of puzzles that will keep you occupied. If the games start getting too easy you may want to upgrade to the full version for $.99.
Considering the different modes offered and the fact that this is one of the top selling apps in the app store proves its staying power and the fact that it does quickly become addicting. The creatures are adorable and you almost feel guilty flinging them into each other but the struggle to finish the puzzles and get through them will make sure you keep returning to this game again and again.
Since this game offers such an extensive free version I highly recommend trying it out and then if you become as addicted as I am then it is definitely worth it to pay the $.99 for the full version.
