REVIEW – “Use this fake caller to make sure you never have to sit through a boring date again!”
All of us have had those moments when we are sitting through a boring date, meeting or event and we just wished someone would call to get us out of it. Well with the Excuse Me app you can have your phone call you and either give you a brief reprieve or an easy way out.
The way the app works is very quite simple. The app opens to a screen that asks if you want the call to come in 0 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute or 5 minutes. The buttons are very large and you can therefore use them rather discreetly which is a nice feature. 
The default caller is blocked but you can easily change this by clicking the “i” icon in the top right corner. You can then choose any one on your contacts list. One thing I noticed is that once I changed the caller I could see no easy way to change it back to blocked. This was only slightly annoying because some situations it might be nice for a blocked number while others it would be nice to have the wife or boss call.
One of the features of the app is that it automatically changes between a male and female voice. I would actually prefer if I could assign the gender voice to the contact because I found the automatic feature to be a bit troublesome. For example my female best friend was given a male voice when I set her up as the caller.
Other than that the app does look pretty realistic though if you have pictures assigned to your contacts they will not show up on the app, so expect this problem if you company knows that your wife’s picture normally pops up when she calls.
You can also set the ring tone that you would like for the call but be aware if you have any custom ringtones those are not going to be available, so once again be prepared for this if the person you are with recognizes your ringtones.A safe bet is always to put your phone on vibrate.
I think this app has a good start but for the money I would like to see some added features and customization. After all if you are going to make this really work than it needs to be flawless.
Another thing that should be mentioned is that you have to keep the app running in order for it to work so it does go to a black screen until it makes the call, it would be a nice feature to be able to exit the app and still have the call go through. I would also consider longer increments in case you wanted to set up the call ahead of time.
