REVIEW – ” It’s time to do surgery on your close friends, colleagues, and family!”
There are a few surgery apps out there but this is the first one I’ve seen that uses your own contacts to create your patient names. Dr. Awesome is a game that causes you to remove viruses from people randomly chosen from your contacts list.
This app starts off with you playing an intern, the lowest level of intern at that. But as you perform successful surgeries you get promoted, but be careful, if you lose too many patients you will get demoted. 
So how to do surgery on your closest friends and co-workers? Well you do so much like the old games where you had to confine small balls in a small space. This works the same way in which you have to divide cells into smaller and smaller sections until the cell is so small that the virus can no longer survive. You need to remove 75% of the cell before the virus will die off.
You lose time and a life if the viruses touch your control or the line you are drawing across the cell. You also have a limited amount of time before you can complete the surgery so don’t waste time.
This may sound easy but the viruses evolve and become smarter and the number of viruses multiplies so it becomes much harder to divide the cell without being hit.
If you fail a surgery twice you lose the patient so you really want to be careful. I will say that I did feel slightly guilty each time I killed one of my close friends (some of my co-workers on the other hand…not so much).
The 2d graphics were great and the story line and dialogue was just as cheesy as you would expect. It was also very familiar to games like Trauma Center so if you like those games you might like this as well. Though do not expect any fancy tools or much diversity in the operations here.
This is a really fun game that becomes quickly addicting and sometimes you can really feel the pressure when your family is on that operating table. The dialogue also tries to play up whatever relationship you have with the patient (without giving away any details) which is always very amusing.
I think this game is well worth the $.99 price tag and it is one of those games that you can sit and play for a long duration or just cure a patient or two when you have a minute to spare.
