Daily Deeds ($.99)
Version 1.0
REVIEW – “Develop new habits with the help of the iPhone!”
All of us have that laundry list of things we need to or at least should be getting done on a daily basis. Daily Deeds allows you to keep track of everything you could possibly have on your list and it will also keep track of how well you do at getting them done when you are supposed to.
Now this isn’t your basic to-do list in that it is not about one time chores or things you really should consider doing tomorrow or next weekend. It is all about encouraging you to form habits. So you simply add a habit you want to create for yourself, such as remembering to take your vitamins or to get in that required 8 glasses of water.
Then you simply click the large circle next to that habit once you have done it for the day. The app will then keep track in a calendar view how many times you accomplished that habit, and hopefully it will become second nature.
The app also gives you a little ticker that keeps track of how many of your deeds you have accomplished since the last time you zeroed out. So you can keep track of daily and even weekly totals on the main screen if you so choose.
Now this app is remarkably simple with very few bells and whistles and that may be part of what makes it great. Though for some of us push reminders might be nice but they are not really necessary.
The app can also send you an email report of your deeds in case you are that particular about knowing how well you are doing and keeping up with your goals.
This is a great little app that almost lets you keep score in your attempt to establish a new habit or to just get into a new routine. While I like the idea of the app and the fact that truly anyone can figure out how to use it in a matter of seconds, I’m still not sure if I know anyone anal enough to really appreciate the fact that it creates PDF reports of your progress.
