REVIEW – “Keep track of the entire family’s chores to see who become Chore Hero!”
This is a great app for families because it allows you to assign chores for every member of the family and then give out points when they perform a chore. The point of Chore Hero is to see who is doing all of their chores and to allow family members to rack up points for a reward.
Anyone running a busy household knows that it can be hard to make sure that not only does everyone do their chores but those that do them well and on time get rewarded. With Chore Hero, doing chores becomes both a game and a competition with everyone vying for the chance to become Chore Hero.
The way the app works is that chores are added on the chore screen. Once you add a chore you can choose what days it needs to be done and by who. (You add people on the people screen). You can even tell the app to randomize who does the chore each time or to choose who does the chore permanently.
Then you have a listing for the day’s chores on the main screen. If someone does their chores you simply click the chore and mark it as done. The amount of points for that score will be added to that person’s total. The more points they have the higher their rank.
If on the other hand the person refuses to their chore you can make the chore as someone being lazy and they do not get the points. You can even look the main screen for what chores need to be done the following day and what chores have already been done by clicking the more icon.
When you go to the people screen you can see how many points each individual has and what their rank is. You can then click more info to see what chores they are slated to do how many chores they have done, what day they did the most work and which chore was the highest point value. You can even “cash out” their points if you want to create a reward system. i.e. ten points earns then allowance or a special treat.
I think this app is a great way to encourage children to their own chores as well as extra work around the house. If they feel like they are competing with other members of the family for great rewards it might just be the incentive they need.
Even without the incentive bonuses it is a great way to always know who is responsible for what, so no more arguments about whose day it was to do the dishes or that they really did clean their room yesterday. It will all be there spelled out at the touch of a button.
This app is well worth the price because it will have your house running like clockwork in no time.
